Lake Elizabeth provides excellent winter birding. Newly-arrived Allen's and Rufous Hummingbirds may be near the palm trees, wintering geese are often on the soccer fields, and a Swamp Sparrow might still be found near the bridge. We'll walk on mostly paved sidewalks a little over half a mile to Gomes Park. On the way, we'll visit the stand of willows, where we should see warblers, goldfinches, and maybe Pine Siskins. Plan to walk about 2.5 miles round trip mostly on paved paths. Heavy rain cancels.Lake Elizabeth provides excellent winter birding.
