January Membership "Light" Meeting: Introduction to Fantasy Birding
Saturday 16 January 2021, 02:00pm
Hits : 395
You are invited to the inaugural 3rd Saturday monthly membership “light” meeting, newly added in 2021.
Topic:  Introduction to Fantasy Birding
Speaker: Amy Lauterbach
In her Real Life, Amy performs bird banding at CCFS with board members: Debbie Wong and Bill Hoppes.   But in her Fantasy Life, she chases birds all over the world.  In 2020, Amy saw 835 species and took 4th place in the
Fantasy Birding ABA Big Year game.
She’ll talk about the addictive game of Fantasy Birding.  Games last anywhere from one day to a full year. It's free, it's fun, it's educational, and you can chase birds even when COVID or a broken ankle keeps you housebound.   Get ready to play a special game to "see" as many species as possible in California during the week of January 17-23.

Note: your Zoom membership meeting link for 1/5/21 membership meeting works for all membership meetings in 2021, including this one.

For meeting registration information if you have not registered before can be found here: http://www.ohloneaudubon.org/index.php/upcoming-events/membership-meetings

Starting in 2021, OAS will have an additional membership meeting on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 2:00pm, except in July and August.

The goal is to increase exchanges among members in informal virtual meetings. There will be no official presentation but a topic or theme of each meeting will be announced ahead of time. Members can volunteer to share their interest, related or unrelated to birds. It is the place to find out what other members are up to or what’s hot in the birding world. Your ideas, suggestion, and participation are needed, send email to programs at ohloneaudubon.org.

We will try a few months to see if such meetings should be continued for this extra monthly membership meeting in the future.
