Five Lapland Longspurs were seen on Mt. Trashmore at the Hayward shoreline this week!  Bob Toleno and Juli Chamberlin invite us to come along on a pop-up field trip this Sunday, November 19, to see if we can find them.  In addition, the wastewater treatment ponds are full of winter ducks, and high tide at noon could bring lots of shorebirds to Frank’s Dump.  Bring your scope if you have one, and wear comfortable shoes for a fairly long walk.  Meet the leaders at the Hayward Shoreline park entrance at the western end of West Winton Avenue in Hayward. Preregistration is not required, and all are welcome.
