Location: Carlton Plaza of Fremont 3800 Walnut Avenue, 94538

Topic: “Along the Road to the Birds and Blooms of Alaska”

Presenter: John Bradley

John Bradley and his wife Becky took a road trip to Alaska in the early summer of 2013. This was the retirement “bonus” John had promised himself. During their first Alaskan birding adventure in 1992, they could only visit Nome and Pt. Barrow. Alaska is a pretty big place, and sometimes you simply cannot do it all in one trip, so they missed the wonders of Denali National Park. They made it to Denali this time and are looking forward to sharing a few of the highlights they encountered in that park. There were many other sights and adventures as well on this exciting road trip through Alaska, including driving the Top-of-the-World, Taylor, Glenn, Kenai Spur, Sterling, Seward, Haines, and Klondike Highways.

To reach Carlton Plaza of Fremont, take I-880 to the Mowry Ave off-ramp, then Mowry east (inland) to Fremont Blvd. Turn right on Fremont Blvd, then left on Walnut. Carlton Plaza is on Walnut between Fremont Blvd and Paseo Padre Pkwy. ‑ MLT
