This summer we will have a first ever Ohlone Audubon pelagic trip.  We will go with the best and with our friend Alvaro Jaramillo's Alvaro's Adventures.  http://www.alvarosadventures.com/

In light of the upcoming trip and to get a preview of what's in store for us, Alvaro will give a presentation on pelagic birds of the Bay Area, from Half Moon Bay to the Farallon Islands. Come hear Alvaro on this pelagic trip without the wind and the motion. Alvaro Jaramillo was born in Chile but began birding in Toronto, Canada, where he lived as a youth.  He was trained in ecology and evolution with a particular interest in bird behavior.  He is author of two books, including The Birds of Chile and has recently finished the ABA Field Guides to the Birds of California.  Alvaro writes the "Identify Yourself" column in Bird Watcher's Digest.  He runs a birding and nature tour company, Alvaro's Adventures, where the focus is to have fun, learn a thing or two and just enjoy birds and nature.  Alvaro lives with his family in Half Moon Bay, California.

We will also be installing the new board members for FY 2017-2018.

Ohlone members never fail to provide us with a nice spread of delicious food for our annual potluck. Please bring your own table service, serving utensils, and a favorite dish to share (about 10 to 12 servings). Last names: (A – G: Entree); (H - O: Dessert); (P – Z: Vegetable, salad or side dish). Beverages will be supplied courtesy of OAS. (Visitors are requested to refrain from bringing alcoholic beverages into the park.) Directions: To reach Alviso Adobe from Fremont or Contra Costa, take I-680 toward Pleasanton to the Bernal exit. Drive west on Bernal to Foothill and turn right. Follow Foothill a little more than half mile to the Alviso Adobe on your left. From Hayward, take I-580 to the Foothill exit and follow Foothill about 3 miles to the Alviso Adobe on your right. Meet in the Milking Barn.
