This coming Saturday, May 6, Steve Huckabone has generously offered to lead a pop-up field trip at Arroyo Del Valle (the "back side" of the dam on Lake Del Valle).  Be prepared for moderate hiking, some of it off-trail; we may have to go under a fence.  Great birds have been sighted this week at this location including Yellow-Breasted Chats and MacGillivray's, Nashville and Yellow Warbler, as well as all the migrants currently being seen such as Ash-Throated Flycatcher and Western Tanager.   Pre-registration is not required; all are welcome. Bring water. A portapotty is on site. The field trip will last 2-3 hours. Meet at 8:00 AM in the staging area on Arroyo Road. In Livermore, take Arroyo Road south past the golf course, past the VA Livermore Health Care facility, and past Wente Vineyards, cross the white bridge, and shortly the staging area will be on your left.
